Super Green Power Smoothie
 
 
A great, tasty, healthy way to eat your greens! Be sure to read the Notes section for some helpful hints!

Serves: 2 smoothies
Ingredients
  • 2 cups fresh spinach
  • 2 cups fresh kale
  • ½ large cucumber, chopped into chunks
  • ½ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 cup frozen fruit*
  • 1 cup water**
Instructions
  1. In a blender, blend all ingredients until smooth, adding more water (or whatever liquid you use) as needed to break down all the greens. Serve.
Notes
*You can use fresh fruit if that's all you have, but I find frozen fruit works best. It thickens your smoothie and acts as flavourful little ice cubes! Try berries, mango, kiwi, peaches, pineapple, or any fruit you can think of!

*I prefer using plain ol' water, but really you can use any liquid you want. Add milk, almond milk, or coconut milk for a thicker smoothie; coconut water or regular water for a smoother one.
